Absence / Late Arrival / Early Dismissal:
If your child will be absent from school or needs to arrive / depart outside of the normal school hours, please notify the student’s teacher and front office by 8:00 am. You may notify the office by phone (847-518-1185) or email Mrs. Sylvia Casaletto at scasaletto@embersacademy.org.

Tardy:
Students may enter the building from 7:55 – 8:10 a.m. If your student is arriving after 8:10 a.m., they will need to sign in at the front desk. Students will receive a slip to deliver to their teacher and the tardy will be recorded.

Our Virtue for September is Order.  As a whole school, we are working on practicing this month’s by making our bed each day. You student(s) have received a calendar to check off each day that they make their bed. They should bring the calendar back to school and turn it in to their teacher on September 30! (A replacement copy is available at the link below.)
 

Kelsey Skender hosted an Usborne Book Fair at Embers last Thursday. If you missed it, click on the link below to shop online!  The Book Fair closes on Monday, September 12th.  Teacher Wish Lists are online as well, so you can help build some classroom libraries.

In an effort to keep our new pickup procedure safe and efficient, please be aware that we have an change for walk-ups.

All parents who would like to park and pick up their children in person are asked to sign in on the Walk-up List located by the front door and then congregate in the small front chruch lot. This will leave the entryway and sidewalks clear for students who are headed to their cars. Once all the drive-up students have been collected and the walkway is clear, we will begin calling names off the Walk-up List.

To foster greater presence in the classroom, we have updated our faculty email procedures. Once the school day has begun, teachers will refrain from viewing and responding to emails until the end of the school day. If you have time-sensitive communication, please contact the school office directly.
