February’s Virtue: Honesty
Mr. Klatt’s 3rd grade class gave a wonderful performance last Friday, demonstrating this month’s virtue: honesty. Their portrayal of The Boy Who Cried Wolf reminded our Sparks how important it is to always be honest with our friends and family if we want them to believe us!
As parents, we can demonstrate the virtue of honesty by living the example of St. Catherine of Siena who was not afraid to stand up for truth in times of conflict. To read more about St. Catherine of Siena and our virtue of the month, be sure to check out this month’s Virtue Vista HERE.

Rosaries & Reconciliation
In preparation for 2nd Grade’s First Reconciliation this Saturday, our 5th and 2nd Grades came together to create beautifully colorful rosaries. The students picked each color of their rosary, as they excitedly expressed, often with clear intentions: white for purity, blue for Mary, yellow for Jesus’ Resurrection, and so forth. After Wednesday’s all-school Mass, the students had their new rosaries blessed by Fr. Leo and they presented him with a special, handmade rosary to celebrate his birthday.
We wish a blessed First Reconciliation to our 2nd Grade class and a very happy birthday to Fr. Leo!!

Northridge Robotics Visits Embers
On Friday, the Northridge robotics team provided our 4th and 5th Grade students with a peek into the world of robots! The team brought two machines that had many talents, including the ability to fly paper airplanes. They challenged our Sparks to fold airplanes for the robots to fly and then had the students draw ideas for their own robot creations. Thank you to our presenters, Anthony Fragola, Peter Henschell, and Damian Mikan, for giving our Sparks this opportunity!
