Vocal Programs

Fire Choir

Embers’ Fire Choir is open to all 2nd-5th Grade students, regardless of experience or skill. This is a beginning choir for all to learn the joys and benefits of singing! Repertoire will include traditional and contemporary Catholic hymns as well as a mix of modern uplifting, inspirational, and age-appropriate secular music. Fire Choir performs at the Christmas Concert and Spring Musical, as well as ministry at Holy Day Masses throughout the year.

Special Performances:

  • Chicago Wolves games
  • Relevant Radio’s nationally-broadcast production of “Carols of Comfort and Joy” (2023)

Theatre

Each spring, the Fire Choir performs a full stage production where students learn the basics of acting, stage movement, and voice projection. Theater teaches young actors to understand characterization, to take direction from a director, and to develop the various skills needed to perform in front of an audience. Stage Crew is also available to 4th and 5th Grade students who would like to learn about construction, stage setup, and performance management.

Past Productions:

  • Annie (2024)
  • Seussical, Jr. (2023)
  • Wizard of Oz (2019)
