Classes Resume Thursday, Jan 4

We look forward to having our Sparks back on campus this Thursday, January 4. Please note there will be NO afternoon EDP or band class this week. Morning EDP will be available both days.

Events In the New Year:
Our campus is alive with excitement this winter with a selection of classes, seminars, and activities for both our Sparks and their parents! Registration for these programs is open, so don’t miss your chance to sign up today!

Our 2024 spring musical, Annie, will be performed by our Fire Choir students on Friday, May 10, 2024.
  • Auditions for Annie will be held on Wednesday, January 24 from 3:15-7:00 p.m. Signups will be available after school resumes.
  • Workshops will be held for all registered Fire Choir members during the regularly scheduled practices on Wednesday, January 10th and 17th.
Participation in Annie is limited to Fire Choir members. Current Fire Choir members do not need to re-register. For new students who wish to participate, registration is open now through January 20th. Standard program fees apply.

Janet Quinlan is a certified life coach helping Catholic women find more joy and fulfillment in their marriage and motherhood. She teaches women practical tools and critical mindset shifts to help them achieve the family life they want. She graduated from St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame with a BA in elementary education. She’s taught in private and public classrooms as well as homeschooled her own children for fourteen years. She’s the host of the podcast, “Finding Joy in Marriage and Motherhood” and helps women through private 1:1 coaching as well as group coaching. She’s been married to Michael for 39 years and has seven children with 20 going on 21 grandchildren.

We are thrilled to offer Embers’ first installment of Art Club! Hosted by professional architect and Embers mom, Mrs. Maggie Rivas, our first class is open to students in K-3rd grade. Art Fundamentals will teach students about the elements and principles of art while working on activating the right side of their brain. Registration will be capped at 15 participants.

January will also kick off a new Music & Movement program, offered by Little Sparks! This reoccurring Tuesday class for infants-5 year old children & their caregivers will feature a 30-minute music class hosted by our wonderful instructors:
  • Meredith Carpenter has participated in & led tot-focused music classes since 2014. An Embers mom and K-2nd Grade Spanish teacher, she helps students of all ages explore culture through music and song.
  • Alli Smith is an Embers mom with a BM in Vocal Performance and experience as a soloist, voice teacher, and choir director. She has participated in numerous children’s music classes and currently directs the Youth & Family Choir at St. Mary of the Angels Church.

Let’s See Those Planes Fly!
Before heading off to Christmas Break, our Sparks received a gift from Mr. Goffos and Mr. Boville – an Embers wooden glider. Their special “homework” is to build their airplane over break and fly it with a friend.

We’d love to see photos and/or videos of their planes in action! We’ll be featuring some of your creations in Spark News when we return from break.
